This has to be one of the most delicious healthy treats / breakfast crumbles I’ve tried in a while. If for no other reason than that, I had to share it. Adapted from the beautiful Loni Jane’s Feel The Lean, I’ve played around with the proportions of oats to dates and added some Himalayan Pink Sea Salt cause I’m a sucker for anything with a salty caramel flavour. And if you haven’t yet heard of Loni Jane, check her out, just one look at her and you’ll be mesmerized / captivated / inspired to never let anything unhealthy touch your lips again ;) . No really, I do hope you give it a go, it only takes a few minutes to whip up, conquers any sweet cravings and guaranteed, you’ll spend the week trying to resist demolishing it in one hit xx

Raw Salty Caramel Granola

Ingredients
9-10 Medjool Dates, pitted
1 cup wholegrain rolled oats
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1tbs coconut sugar
1/2 tsp of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

Directions
1. In a high powered blender, blitz the dates. Scrape the sides of blender and add the remaining ingredients. Blitz once more, for around 1-2 minutes or until it forms your desired consistency. Serves with frozen blueberries, banana and a dash of yoghurt xx

So I’m in the tropics right now and pineapple’s all the rage here, so I figured it was only fitting to write about what has become one my fave breaky combos back home. There’s nothing complex about it or particularly clever, but it does hit the spot. Either a refreshing start to the day or, subtract the banana and reduce the grains and you have the perfect detour from a late night grab for the secret chocolate stash. And we all have one of those, yes? The combination of sweet tangy pineapple and chewy caramel dates really does the trick for a sweet craving, plus the quinoa, buckwheat and banana provide sustenance to set you on the way for a big, full day xx

Tropical Pineapple and Date Breakfast Bowl

Ingredients
(Serves 1)

1 Medjool Date, chopped
1 banana, sliced
2 slices pineapple, chopped
Sprinkle of flaked coconut (approx 1tbs)
Sprinkle flaked almonds (approx 1bs)
1/4 cup puffed quinoa
1/4 cup raw buckinis
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
3-4 tbs Vanilla yoghurt to serve

Directions
1. Simply combine date, banana, pineapple, buckinis and puffed quinoa. Sprinkle with flaked coconut, almonds, cinnamon and maca. Serve with vanilla yoghurt xx

Despite it’s title, Vanilla Hemp Milk only takes a few seconds to whip up. It’s an excellent nut free, soy free, dairy free milk alternative and adds a splash of sweet nutty vanilla flavouring to an otherwise ordinary Brekkie Bowl. And we’re not about ordinary here. Other than Chia seeds, Hemp seeds are one of the only foods to contain the ideal ratio of omega 6 to omega 3s. Plus, as Hemp Seeds contain the super anti inflammatory essential fatty acid GLA, it helps to balance hormones and can therefore assist with PMS. Above all, Hemp is packed with protein and is arguable the best source of plant based protein available to man. Who knew a brekkie bowl could have so much meaning? Recipe below xx

Vanilla Hemp Milk & Brekkie Bowl

Ingredients
Hemp Milk
1/2 cup hemp seeds
2cups filtered water
1tbs maple syrup or 1 Medjool date
1tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
Brekkie Bowl
1/2 cup wholegrain oats
1/4 cup flaked coconut
8-10 almonds
1 banana sliced
2 strawberries sliced

Directions
1. Combine all Hemp Milk ingredients in a high powered blender. Whiz / blend until a milk substance forms. Approx 1 minute. Cover and store in fridge.
2. To assemble brekkie bowl, begin with oats, top with banana, strawberry, coconut, almonds and top with Vanilla Hemp Milk xx

Kakadu Plum and Buckwheat Green Smoothie Bowl

Kakadu plum is considered in Indigenous terms to be a Gift From The Dreamtime. Traditionally considered a healing remedy, this Australian superfood power house is bursting with Vitamin C and contains both antibacterial and anti viral properties. Added to your smoothie bowl or sprinkled over your breaky, it promises to deliver an excellent immunity boost as the weather gets colder. This recipe only takes a few moments to prepare (I know it doesn’t look that way), simply blend up the smoothie ingredients and top with your favourite garnishes for added texture and crunch.
